大学生の就職先として公務員離れが深刻化している。人事院は６月８日、23年度国家公務員採用総合職試験の合格者を発表した。申込者数は前年度比958人（6.2％）減少し、東京大学出身の合格者が初めて200人を割り込んだ。国家公務員総合職は、いわゆるキャリア官僚で官庁の中核を担う人材だ。
